The Sierra de la Culata massif offers a charming green mountain route. In August and September, summits (the most majestic of which are probably El Aguila and Pan of Azúcar) will probably be laundered by snow. Between Chachopo and Llano del Hato, you arrive in a breathtaking corner. You are in the Páramo of La, at the peak El Aguila, on the highest paved road in the country where you can see the oldest frailejónes (up to 200 years). To enjoy this, it is advisable to arrive before noon. Later, the panorama is lost in the mists. You will then have a view of the Pic peak. This is also where the Río río goes down to Mérida. In fact, it is a tower surmounted by a Condor taking its flight (not an eagle) dominating at 4 300 m. The monument is dedicated to Bolívar who spent here, as you will eventually know, during the admirable Campaign in 1813. Sometimes we see snow here, but the nicest is still to go shelter, in this good wooden restaurant that you already see, hot chocolate! If you want to call a speleologist friend, a public telephone booth is adjacent to the restaurant.
