It is! You are 3 140 m away in the highest village in Venezuela. The sweater is no longer in the bag! And if you quit to drink a good chocolate made with the valley cocoa, or a hot cachapa? This small village of 500 souls, which celebrates San Rafael on 24 October, was founded only in 1872 by Father Asunción León under the first name of El Vecindario. Surrounded by the mountains, the splendid and simple capilla capilla (stone chapel) can be seen by the roadside. Within this curious little construction built by hand, in 1984, one can admire a statuette of the Virgin, made by Juan Félix Sánchez and his wife. This artist, revered in Venezuela as a saint for his humility, had the honour of receiving the Pope's visit during the passage of the Pope in the region in 1985. Acknowledging, the architect then rushed to build a little bust representing the Pope! Born in 1997 at the respectable age of 97, he was founded in his own church.
