In the heart of the Andes, 60 km from Mérida on the road to Barinas. Here you are at the North entrance of the second park created (1952), which brings together the highest peaks in the country: the famous Picos Bolívar (5 007 m), Humboldt (4 942 m), Bonpland (4 883 m), La Concha (4 922 m), El Toro (4 760 m), El León (4 745 m) and Muncuñuque (4 679 m). The peaks of the Andes are covered in snow all year round and the area has been classified for its beauty, but also for its immense hydrographic reserve as evidenced by the icy lakes such as the Laguna Negra, Laguna Verde, Santo Cristo or the Laguna Mucubají. If you're rush trout, you'll be aware that the corner lakes are full of U.S. rainbow parfois, provided they have the permit. In around, tropical rainforests leave a lower vegetation, including frailejón. Walking through this section of the Andes, you multiply the chances of finding you nose nose with one of the last glasses of glasses, a deer or a nice puma (can we speak of luck?), but the most common animal in the early morning or at night remains the lapin rabbit… It is in the páramo that the Spanish develop the culture of wheat and the potato at the time of conquest, which the natives are now leaving at the expense of garlic. Unfortunately, this last crop uses a considerable amount of chemicals. Information on www.sierranevada.andigena.org
