Travel Guide Ripalimosani

Surrounded by valleys and gentle hills, Ripalimosani is located 7 kilometers north of Campobasso. The village has long been known for the cultivation and processing of hemp. Worth seeing is the church of Santa Maria dell'Assunta, which houses a copy of the Shroud of Turin. In addition to its charming alleys and old town, Ripalimosani is also known for its great horse race, the "Palio delle Quercigliole", which takes place every year on August 12, on a one-kilometer country course. Traditionally, the winning horse enters the Madonna della Neve chapel and pays homage to the Virgin by kneeling down.
