Compared to other communities in the province, Magona of Isernia has a recent history. Its creation dates back to the end of the th century. Previously a fortification existed on the site: farmers, craftsmen, pastors or even merchants came together around the fortress to benefit from its protection. This concentration of habitats was born the village of Magona. The simple fortification, whose original task was to keep the bridge on the Lorda torrent, has long evolved. Today, it is constructed in rectangular form. Medieval dashes have been pierced by windows and beautiful arcatures. The village hosts a wine market Pentro (October) every year.
