Town on the border with Burkina Faso, 10 km from Navrongo and 50 km northwest of Bolgatanga.According to oral tradition, a hunter named Nave, looking for a fertile place to settle, came down from the empire of ancient Ghana (the Ashanti empire) towards the borders of Burkina Faso. As he walked, his foot sank into the earth. The man interpreted this as a sign of fertility. He called out " Ayi-Paga " (for "my eye"). Although less flamboyant than Sirigu, this village remains an interesting detour for the pleasure of the eye. The small Masidou Ahmad mosque, close to the border, can be visited free of charge with the agreement of the imam. Erected in 1998, it bears witness to the growing presence of Islam in the region.
