This small village is famous throughout Ghana for its pottery and wall decorations. The handicrafts are made entirely by women, who have been working together since 1997 to combat the rural exodus and keep the creative tradition alive. The association is called Sirigu Woman's Organisation for Pottery and Art (SWOPA). If you have been this far north in Ghana, it would be a big mistake not to visit this village. The skill of these women is a jewel in itself, the decoration of these typical Sahelian houses an art. It is easy to reach Sirigu from Bolgatanga by tro-tro (1 hour journey).
