Gaeltacht well known in the country (in Ireland, we call Gaeltacht the regions where the population still speaks Irish on a daily basis), Ballyferriter is a small and lively town and above all a beautiful example of preservation of the Irish culture (courses are offered in summer). Here, it is good to soak up the local atmosphere. Otherwise, two small kilometers from the village, the Riasc Monastic Settlement (free access) is a monastic complex built in the 6th century where one can observe the impressive Riasc Stone. There is not much left of it, but the detour is not long if you are in the area.
