Whitehouse is famous for its cornmeal buns, known throughout the island as bammies. On the outskirts of the village, women sit in front of small makeshift stands selling their products to passing motorists. The small village of Whitehouse is not particularly interesting for tourists; the beach is modest, far from the splendor of the beaches of Negril. One comes here to seek the calm and the magnificent natural setting of this small picturesque fishermen's village far from the tourist tumult of the West Coast, to taste a warm atmosphere and of course succulent fish plates.
