The small capital of the Land of Saarland, Saarbrücken in French, is a small and pleasant university and industrial town. Visually, it is very eclectic, from the baroque buildings of the Ludwigsplatz to the Parc Park, located on the space of the old charbonnier. converted through numerous legacies of industrial architecture and post-war and contemporary achievements. With 180 000 inhabitants, it is in the heart of an industrial node animated by coal mining (still partially in operation, unlike that of neighbouring Lorraine, because Germany still uses high-scale coal) of nearly 350 000 inhabitants. As it was long in the giron of France in its history, it felt a marked French influence, up to the local accent or traditions. Moreover, the city fully assumes its role as a bridge between the Latin and Germanic worlds. Without being a major tourist destination, Saarbrücken is an original and pleasant city with a few monuments of interest and has been able to highlight its industrial past.
