Pointe-des-Monts is an exceptional site for observing seabirds and shorebirds. To get there, take Route 138 East, then a secondary road that runs for more than 10 kilometers through an ecological environment barely touched by man. At the far end is the famous Pointe-des-Monts lighthouse, erected in 1830, making it one of the oldest on the continent. The lighthouse can be visited in season, and it's well worth climbing the steps to the lookout balcony, if only for the panoramic view it affords. Nearby, you can visit the reconstructed encampment of the last Aboriginal people to live at Pointe-des-Monts until 1890.
