Following the explosion of an oil-transporting train that destroyed part of the historic center and claimed 47 lives in July 2013, this part of the town was rebuilt. Lac-Mégantic has since made a superb effort to breathe joy and life back into the community. And it's succeeding, with new developments lining the lake and a host of seasonal activities.
