Ladismith, also known as the Lady of the Little Karoo, is located along Route 62 at the foot of the majestic Towerkop, with its slit top overlooking the town. Founded in 1852 in honour of Lady Juana Smith, wife of the Cape Governor, it is a growing area with an ideal climate for fruit trees such as apricots, peaches, plums, nectarines and grapes. Ladismith is also known for its cheese factories and its goat cheese, which can be tasted directly on the farm. The streets of Ladismith are full of beautiful Victorian houses and churches.
