A pretty little island covering 300 ha, Tuan Châu is no longer an island since it was linked to the mainland by a 2 km jetty. Hô Chi Minh liked to rest there in a simple bamboo and rattan dwelling. But now, although the island is still a reminder that it was one of the Fatherland's chosen places, it has turned its back on solitude, asceticism and silence... It has been transformed by the economic boom, with surreal investments: a dolphin pool, laser lights, an artificial marina... Tuan Châu and its international marina are the departure point for Halong Bay cruises.
