It is one of the oldest pagodas in the country. The date of its foundation is disputed. Some sources mention a Chinese governor, Si Nhiêp, around the 3rd century. The pagoda played an important role in the establishment of Buddhism, which was imported from China and spread to the Red River delta as early as the 2nd century. 24 km south of Hanoi, the pagoda is reached via Route 1A. Shortly before the Thuong Tin railway station, a sign points the way to the pagoda. Follow a small road to the right. On the left, a path leads south along the Nhue River to the pagoda.
