Created in 2006 and opened to tourism in 2010, Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve is an ecotourism destination southwest of Hanoi. It is home to precious ecosystems. The reserve is also home to Muong ethnic villages. It's an unspoilt, little-visited place. A stay in the reserve (usually two days devoted to a short trek) can easily be integrated into a tour that takes in Ninh Binh and the surrounding area (Tam Côc, Cuc Phuong nature park...) and the Mai Châu region (Pu Luong reserve, the great lake of Hoa Binh and the Mai Chau Hideaway Resort...).
