Located equidistant between Plakias on the west and Hora Sfakion on the east, Frangokastello is not really a village, but rather a hamlet. There is no unifying center: the road leads directly to the castle, passing a succession of rooms for rent, small supermarkets and taverns along a vast beach of extraordinary sand (especially just below the castle). No bank, no laundry, no ATM, no post office. So much to say that it is the absolute calm when the wave of tourists coming to photograph the castle left. One arrives there by car by the main road which connects Hora Sfakion and Plakias.
