Located 25 km west of Heraklion in the direction of Rethymnon at the end of a superb ridge road, this small village nestled in a small bay surmounted by hills has been transformed over the past thirty years into a very touristy seaside resort. It is a privileged resting place for the inhabitants of the Cretan capital thanks, among other things, to its superb (but too narrow...) fine sandy beaches. It is an ideal base to enjoy the place, to rest, to explore the surroundings, especially the village of Fodele and to go diving. Perfect if you have children and want to spend a week at the water's edge.
