This small village of 3 000 inhabitants is not particularly interesting in itself. It comes mainly to visit the museum of famous Porcelain porcelain, which has been manufactured here for a century and a half. Founded in 1826, the porcelain factory of Herend is still one of the most famous in Europe, alongside Precursor porcelain. Herend's porcelain contains thousands of different, hand painted motifs inspired by traditional Hungarian motifs and Art nouveau.
