Located halfway between Cagliari and Oristano in the vast Campidano plain, Sanluri was the scene of a historic battle in 1409. It was here that the Aragonese armies of Martin the Younger and those of the Judiciary of Arborea, led by William II, Viscount of Narbonne, clashed. The victory went to the Aragonese, who thus put an end to the period of the Judicats. Today Sanluri is a quiet village of 8,500 inhabitants, surrounded by fields and orchards From Cagliari, it takes 40 minutes by car on the SS131 and a good hour by bus 122. From Oristano, it takes 45 minutes by car on the SS131 and 1 hour and 15 minutes by bus 444
