Nowra, twinned with its neighbor Bomaderry, is located on the Shoalhaven River, 125 km from Sydney. It is the commercial and administrative center of the Shoalhaven Region and is home to over 34,000 people, resulting in heavy rush hour traffic on the Princes Highway. From here, you can travel to the Southern Highlands via Kangaroo Valley, or follow the coast south via Jervis Bay. Nowra is also the starting point for the beautiful Grand Pacific Drive, which connects to the Royal National Park, southeast of Sydney. One of Nowra's major attractions, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, is located at the Navy base, HMAS Albatross, 11km to the southwest.
