Travel Guide Linaria

Welcome to Skyros!If you are arriving by sea, either from the rest of the Sporades archipelago or from the Euboea peninsula, you will disembark at the small port of Linaria, the only maritime entrance to the island. There is also an airport at the northern tip of the island, but it is likely that you will arrive by ferry, like many holidaymakers. Beyond a technical stop or a food break, you are unlikely to spend much time there. Nevertheless, Linaria lives quietly at the rhythm of sailboats and ferries, and we like this atmosphere along the water, with its few terraces along the marina. Apart from this pleasant atmosphere, the city itself is not very interesting and does not allow to imagine the treasures of Skyros. But it gives access to a whole series of beautiful beaches, otherwise rare on the island: in the vicinity of Linaria, they are concentrated between Pefkos in the north and the beach of Kalamitsa in the south. Above all, the small port is the gateway to the southern half of Skyros, its wilderness and its majestic landscapes. Don't miss to take the splendid southern road, to discover the natural wealth of the island.
