The north coast, from Kos-ville to the port of Mastihari, is a succession of long sandy beaches exposed to the meltemi, with a succession of resorts and vacation clubs. The main resorts are Tigaki, Marmari and, finally, Mastihari. Mastihari's small port links up with Kalymnos and the islet of Pserimos. Here you can windsurf, wingfoil and kitesurf. Options for good food and drink are hard to come by: most hotels in the area have their own restaurants. More and more hotels are turning to a slightly higher quality of tourism, but there's still a long way to go.
