12 km from Alexandroupoli, this seaside village has a mythological treasure which is not much promoted and which will be appreciated by the amateurs: it is the cave which would have been used as refuge by the Cyclops. Its entrance overlooks the sea, and the whole is striking. The Cyclops cave was discovered during the First World War, but was particularly explored in the 1990s. Archaeological excavations have uncovered evidence of life here since prehistoric times. Above the beach, a rocky outcrop is visible. The cave is located on the southern shore. The entrance is five metres wide and three metres high. The view of the sea is panoramic.
