Bozhentsi is almost a museum-village under the sky with an idyllic setting, 15 km east of Gabrovo. It is said that Bozhentsi was discovered by a rich lady from Tarnovo, Bozhana, who settled there after the death of her husband during the conquest of Tarnovo by the Ottoman Empire. Almost all the buildings date from the 18th century and some of them can be visited as museums. If time has not stopped here, the feeling of calm is king. There are several houses with rooms for rent; count 30 to 40 leva for a double. There is a regular bus service from Gabrovo to the village (3 buses a day). It is a nice walk to Tryavna along an old Roman road (9 km).
