The small town of Troyan is not rich in places to visit, but the atmosphere is pleasant and the area is beautiful. There are a number of interesting sites in the vicinity, including the famous monastery (which is the main reason for coming here and is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria), as well as the picturesque pass. The name of the town comes from the Via Traiana, a road that connected Mesia (now Serbia) and Thrace. The Tsentralen Balkan National Park, which is located in the south in the mountains, is very popular and attracts a large number of hikers. The tourist office will give you valuable information.
