Perhaps the Bulgarian village with the best preserved architecture of the National Renaissance. Here there are no buildings or industry: only an idyllic village - even its newer parts are integrated into the landscape - with multicoloured facades. It is a festival of rural architecture. Koprivchtitsa is an ideal destination for a weekend when you are in Sofia, but you can also stay here longer to rest and enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings. The village has many charming and affordable hotels. Little known fact is that the first public school in Bulgaria opened here in 1822.
