Langevin is an ideal place to savour the charms of Saint-Joseph around a beautiful walk.At the exit of the town, turn at the sugar cane scale. You arrive at the town of Langevin, which is of little interest but is surrounded by many walks, starting with the river itself. For the Reunionese, it is a favourite place for Sunday picnics, especially in summer (austral). One can swim in several places, letting oneself be massaged by the cool current. The highlight of the walk is the Grand-Galet waterfall, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful on the island! This one emerges from the mossy rocks, magnificent and photogenic, especially in the rainy season. You can swim in the pool and even fly over it by zip line, but be careful of the currents and don't go too close to the waterfall. Other pools punctuate the course: Bassin Bleu, Bassin Jules, Trou Noir waterfall... You'll have to crawl a little on the paths and rocks to reach them, but you can also take advantage of more privacy to put your towel down, in the shade of avocado trees and lychee trees. From the main road, you can also explore the mouth of the Langevin River, which flows into the sea in a final cascade at the Pointe de Langevin. After the bridge over the river Langevin, continue to the roundabout, turn right and go down to the small port. You will discover a fishermen's hamlet, where a pretty path along the sea begins. Count half an hour to make the loop along Les Souffleurs.
