The second largest city on the island of Majorca, Manacor is built on a plain. From afar, it appears as a modern city, an impression confirmed by the large buildings that surround its few historic buildings. An industrial town without any particular charm, the old Manacor is grouped around its Gothic church. The town hall is housed in a former 17th century convent with a beautiful cloister. There is also a 16th century tower on the Plaça Rubi. Today, Manacor manufactures traditional furniture and exports the famous Majorica and Orquidea pearls. Tennis players will pass by the Rafa Nadal club, a native of Manacor.
