This town, 260 km north of Cajamarca (14h30 drive), is worth a visit for its central bronze fountain from the 19th century and for its church with an obscure but slender nave where an altar gilded with gold leaf shines. Cutervo has one of the most important bullrings in Peru, where the world's greatest matadors come to fight during the patron saint festivals, from 23 to 30 July and from 10 to 20 August. The national park of Cutervo shelters a fauna and a flora of the most diverse: jaguar, tiger, bear with glasses, etc., as well as dwarf and misty forests... The area remains confidential and still very little tourist as for its infrastructures.
