The small town of Patti lies on the northern slopes of the Nebrodi Mountains, between the sea and the mountains, in an area of Roman settlements. Further along the Tyrrhenian coast, you come to Marina di Patti, where there is a well-preserved Roman villa dating from the 4th and 5th centuries that bears witness to the luxury of the local Roman aristocracy of the time (this coast was probably the Riviera of the Romans). Among its many rooms, it preserves a peristyle and polychrome mosaics. The town also has a beautiful beach, so you can take a break. From Messina with Autolinee Magistro or AST, it takes about 1h20 by bus to Patti.
