This moshav, which borders Ein Tamar, was founded in 1959. Both offer several types of accommodation whose affordable rates counterbalance those of the large standard hotels in Ein Bokek. All are able to offer hiking, mountain biking, jeep tours of the desert and many other activities. Although originally intended for agriculture (Neot Hakikar and Ein Tamar are directly linked to the work of the Zohar agricultural experimental station between Ein Bokek and Mount Sodom), the Neot Hakikar moshav is also home to a large community of artists.
