Val-d'Arc, which is located at the entrance to the Maurienne Valley, is a new commune resulting from the merger of the communes of Aiguebelle and Randens, both separated by the Arc. The capital is Randens. In Aiguebelle is the castle of Charbonnières, which was the ancestral residence of the Counts of Savoy, with Humbert I and the parish church dedicated to Saint Christopher. In Randens, you can discover the church of the Assumption and the collegiate church of Sainte-Catherine.
