A few steps from the Vitton course, the Pell Mell is an address that will transform our habits at lunch by offering us, in a pleasant environment with little aggressive tones (it is based on the spirit), a formula of the day at only 13,50 € and gourmet salads. Welcoming Mrs. who installs us in one of the two rooms and the suite is only a succession of small and great happiness: put in immediate mouth with the jug of water and quality breads; a generous, tasty and well-presented dish that can be accompanied by a good glass of wine; a dessert, also home, always as well presented, like this pear pochée grout of chocolate. Without doubt, one of the best value for money service in the neighborhood! In the evening, reception remains one of the strengths and the kitchen is even more creative, always with this concern for presentation that transforms plates into the implementation of ephemeral art: small pot of foie gras and its pochée fig to red wine, a cod back and its red peppers, muffin tomato or duck magret with its exotic sauce. In a neighborhood where animations are lacking, we love the thematic evenings proposed by the Pell Mell with every Thursday night of magic, but also, other days, music, dance or coffee theatre.

A strange place for a meeting. In this street with dull façades, where nothing, or almost, suggests a place full of charm, you stop short in front of Steff's. Stéphane Fernandez is in the street and he still debates with a guest on the pavement. It must be said that he knows how to entertain a charming dining room in which he managed to bring all Lyonnnais gratin. Once you pass the door, the round tables and deep armchairs, the floor made of polished concrete, the lights give a superb tone to an establishment where the staff implements a relaxed approach while doing things seriously. Every day, the menu is properly written on a piece of paper according to the inspiration of the moment. It must be said that Steff likes to do research and surprise his guests who has never enough of a gourmet table where you can enjoy a tuna cooked in a beautiful way. In any case, when you enter here, you should trust the chef (and you can do it!). Between the innovative restaurant, the exclusive bar, the trendy meeting place... Steff always combines several positions with the same elegance.

At the corner of the rue de Sèze and the Boileau street, right next to the town hall of the 6 th (moreover, this establishment was the former Café of the Town Hall), some work transformed this "traditional" coffee into a "café pub" perfectly in the air of time. No one will be surprised to learn that the new boss is named Chloe. But what's more amazing is the journey of this adorable person who displays a Master's Degree in Chemistry, who has gone through management and recruitment, who has training in bookstores and is now chef in cooking and pastry! Hat. Marion and Chris (the Brazilian who makes hell cocktails…) are in the service in a room that does not revolve around a counter but a library. Because at Chloe, we're taking his coffee at large hours (with every month the development of a café in the world), we're doing tea in the afternoon, we've got régaler lunch and dinner, but we're also reading and discovering books (in free consultation and sale) around particular themes (tourism with Petit Smart and Lonely Planet, cuisine, creative leisure, youth…). For children, visiting storytellers, and for adults, workshops around wine. And on the plates? A cuisine full of freshness and flavours made with products from local producers (fruits and vegetables of Saint-Prim, meat and charcuterie of Amplepuis…). A kitchen of sharing, in the image of the places, a seasonal kitchen to be happy. Some dishes: marinated rump of, potatoes, salad; mozza-aubergines-tomatoes-pignons, raw ham, salad; salad of young shoots, cherry tomatoes, avocado, raw ham, pine pine, feta or Parmesan… A vegetarian proposal every day and homemade desserts, from the heart of black chocolate to the almond apricot pie. A superb and trendy place where you can at the same time enjoy, without separating them, pleasures of the restaurant and those of the party. Only one entrance leads you to F&K in order not to choose between eating and having fun anymore. The à la carte is inspired by the local quality ingredients, with renowned suppliers as the famous Sibilia charcuterie which we find in an assortment. For the hot dishes, fried big-scale sand smelt or a roast free-range chicken cassolette. Another happiness of the place, the cellar of the establishment offering very a fine selection of bottles - with about twenty wine references that you can easily admire on the walls transformed into wine cellar, but mostly to taste! The meal, you cn have on the very comfortable high bar table, is gladly prolonged on a very pleasant playlist. The F&K bistroclub®, a place to feel alive, a place to be Futé.

And, if you cannot benefit from the sun on the terrace, you can play darts in the room of the bar and enjoy the temporary exhibitions. Very comfortable upholstered bench seats, silverware, bronzes, as much good taste that magnify the 19th-century appearance restaurant that bears the Pierre Orsi label. And, when the dishes arrive, we are torn between admiration for the chef and emotion, facing the refinement and the finesse with which the dishes are prepared and taken care. Ballotine of duckling with pistachios, lobster raviolis, saffron cream or Prawns poached with Eastern spices to start. Next, golden scorpionfish fillet, virgin sauce, fennel seed, round fillet of veal stuffed with herbs, simple juice or a lamb shank, simmered in old-fashioned way. Elegance and authenticity in "old-fashioned" way are cheerfully reflected in these dishes, and as for the quality of this address, the kindness of the staff will convince you. Recommended for the exceptional setting as well as for the cuisine.

However, under the leadership of the chef Anthony Fusco, Le Théodore slowly makes the switch to a certain modernity while preserving its "classics". The least we can write is that if this restaurant is not still unanimously appreciated, it has rectified its situation since our last not very rave reviews. Setting did not change and steps from Musée d'Art Moderne, the room is modern in white and red tone to highlight fluid forms, including this staircase leading to the mezzanine. The terrace overlooking the amphitheatre, sheltered by large parasols, offers a pleasant refuge. The point of improvement is both services, more responsive and friendly at the time of our visit, and the cuisine that will never be that of Mathieu Viannay, Christophe Marguin or Frédéric Berthod, three chefs combined in the business, but a good cuisine in a brasserie way with some gourmet refinement as extra. On an well-stuffed menu, a Marmande tomato tartare served with a half ball of real di bufalo mozzarella, pesto and condiments, a whole grilled fish according to the arrival, lobster salad, risotto worthy of this name or a roast veal sweetbreads in casserole, before enjoying the famous creamy chocolate fondant. Fine wine list for an address that move on top in our selection list.

At Chez Plumeau, snacks and wine bar, you feel good. A little as at home near very chic Brotteaux, in this cosy and familiar interior at the same time. It's simple, once settled down at the bar, right in front of the green staircase, you would readily prolong your delicacy day by enjoying a new glass of wine whereas our dish is empty for a long time. And if it is empty, it means that it was filled with good things at the mealtime. In summer slate menu, a Caesar salad, a Limoux flank steak with shallot and its sautéed apples, beef tartare, a pistachio in sausage sauce with wine and a caponata in Sicilian way, before treating yourself with a simple strawberry dish. The whole accompanied by a good bottle (or just one glass) of Burgundy duly chosen or of a Côtes-du-Rhône wine of the owner. Homemade dishes and table d'hôte, fine wine and good food, every effort is made so that you feel at ease, even if you have a nice moustache. Let's get lost at Chez Plumeau!

Contrast between the beauty of the places and the mediocrity of the offered catering services is impressive. And, we do not talk about the deplorable reception, impolite service... And yet, Café du Pond is still part of the Lyon's addresses where you go with much or less happiness according to your good fortune. Sign of gratitude, the sport scar that you let idling in front of the entrance, before going to park it in the underground car park of the place. See no kind of jealousy on our part, we like beautiful things. But when most of the place de Lyautey seems to be privatized only for the pleasure of some drinkers of luxury rosé, it bothers us! Eating is delicate and the "fresh" in seasonal menu are only of the name: Caprese salad, Terrace du Pond burger, cod loin. What is more annoying is the bad reception they reserve for those who are not regulars, until they realize that they are not welcome or ignoring them... In short, an address to avoid, even in dream location!
