Mexican specialty restaurant offering 100% home cooking.

In the panel of Mexican restaurants, here's the taqueria version, the one that specializes in tacos, but not only... At Piquin, the food is 100% homemade: from the tacos to the tortillas, not forgetting the brain-bending dessert of the day. Piquin, which you can pronounce any way you like, is the culinary adventure of Sandra Alvarez, a Mexican by birth and graduate of the Institut Bocuse, who works wonders behind the stove, and Hugo Boissin, who runs the colorful dining room. Both are passionate about Mexican cuisine and culture. Ceviche, guacamole, nachos, carne asada depending on arrivals, local beers and tequila tastings. llegamos rapido!

I absolutely adore Piquin, and it's becoming one of my favorite places to go out to eat in Lyon!

Tl:dr version: vegetarian friendly, reasonably priced, impeccable drinks, excellent service, portions on the smaller side for people who need a lot to fill up, not particularly spicy, and you can buy hot sauces there!

Drinks- always delicious, and a great value for the price. They have the absolute best margaritas I've been able to find so far in Lyon, I would honestly go there for the drinks alone.

Food- always delicious. Folks who need a lot to fill up will probably need to order more than one dish, or plan to snack ahead of time, as the portions are on the smaller side (although still reasonable in my opinion). I can also give this the vegetarian stamp, they have several options and they're all super tasty. Only thing missing here for me is spiciness, but that seems to be a problem generally in France.

Service- everyone here is super friendly, I was really pleased with the service and the interactions we had.

Hot sauces you can buy- they have Valentina hot sauce (milder and more spicy version) and had a bunch of new options I hadn't seen before! I really love buying hot sauce from them. You can also grab small bags of Takis, and other assorted items (you can check their to-go menu to see what all they have at the moment).

According to Thibault:
La nourriture était excellente, le service rapide et efficace et le cocktail très bien travaillé.
Merci d’avoir fait attention aux allergies des personnes à la table.
MUCHAS GRACIAS und DANKESCHÖN
