The former bailiwick of the Vivarais region, Boucieu-le-Roi is a haven of peace. Nestled in a basin of the Doux river, appreciated in summer for its coolness and its main attraction: the Mastrou, the village of Boucieu-le-Roi is made up of traditional houses built of local stone, elegant with their stoops covered by a roof, the "aître". Boucieu-le-Roi is home to a number of isolated farms and hamlets, such as the hamlet of Montchal with its bread oven and ancient well. The village, located on the Mastrou railway line, offers a "vélorail" (bicycle-rail) service, allowing you to follow the tracks of this picturesque line on foot.
