Clinging to its rocky promontory, Méthamis dominates the Nesque gorges at an altitude of 380 metres. The village has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. At the time, the inhabitants lived in the cave of the Nesque gorge known as the "shelter of the church". In spite of this longevity, it has always remained very small. In fact, it is best known to cyclists who ride the Nesque circuit. You can take a look at its castles. But it is definitely nature that is beautiful and we take the opportunity to take walks to the Sainte-Foy chapel which is on the Wall of Plague or the churches of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul
