In the east of the Vienne department is La Trimouille, formerly La Trémoïlle. With a history of a thousand years, only the motte castrale remains of the castle. It was built on a hillock overlooking the Benaize. Along the banks of the river, several mills were built, including the Font mill, which is open occasionally for cultural events, as well as castles, manors and medieval ruins. Take advantage of your visit to discover the astonishing "Atelier des collectneurs" in the former workshops of the Aubade factory and don't miss the "Foire des Hérolles", a monthly market which is a secular event!
