The first mentions of the commune of Belleu date back to the Middle Ages, in 1143. Its name, which means "beautiful place", would have been attributed to it because of the beautiful panorama that it offers on the Aisne valley and the city of Soissons, very close. During your bike ride in the surroundings of Soissons, take some time to stroll in the streets of Belleu. The church of Saint-André is listed as a historical monument and has a lot of charm, as does the manor house of Fief des Tournelles, which is distinguished by its two beautiful turrets. Finally, along the railroad, you can see the memorial of the deportees of the Second World War.
