By its geographical position inserted in the Loire-Atlantique, at the limit of the Breton Marsh and the bocage, the commune has economic assets. It is the first wine-producing commune in the Vendée (muscadet, gros-plant, local wines). In terms of heritage, the processional cross in the church is worth a visit. Dating from the 16th century, this cross is made of chased silver and decorated with 17 enamelled medallions. It is called processional because it was used during processions, which were numerous from the Middle Ages until around 1950. It was awarded the second prize for religious objects of the French Renaissance by the jury of the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.
