As is the case for the majority of the communes along the Huisne valley, Sceaux-sur-Huisne is a very old village. The medieval village was built on remains dating from antiquity. Gallo-Roman cubic stones have been identified in the masonry of the church. Agricultural activity remains dynamic in this village, even though its location, on a major communication axis, favoured its industrial development in the 20th century. It still has a major production around the manufacture of rillettes. In 1966, the Bahier family charcuterie became a food industry. Today it is one of the leading companies at the national level for the production of rillettes.Don't miss: the communal wash-house, the church of Saint-Germain - a jewel that comes to us from the Middle Ages -, the town hall that dates from the 18th century, the old weavers' dwellings, the house with ceramic decorations, among other remarkable buildings whose circuit is detailed in the brochure of the Pays d'art et d'histoire du Perche sarthois " Parcours-découverte Sceaux-sur-Huisne "
