LE CANDIDE RESTO ET BAR
Read moreWhat a pleasure it is to literally feast in the heart of downtown Nantes, just a stone's throw from Graslin, with very reasonable prices and formulas! You have to go to the Voltaire street, near the Dobrée Museum or the Natural History Museum of Nantes. Here we are welcomed with a smile by Marina who serves us in this discreet little restaurant. She is supported in life and in work by Jonathan, the chef, for our greatest pleasure. He concocts good traditional dishes 100% home-made. Meat and fish come from the MIN or from small local producers. Freshness, quality of products and the chef's touch do the rest! Carpaccio of salmon gravlax, old-fashioned veal blanquette, hake or monkfish depending on the arrival, always served with beautiful accompaniments (old-fashioned rice, small vegetables from the market, salads), it's good and hearty! The chef is renowned for his homemade foie gras, which won him the Papilles d'or prize (culinary competition organized by the Paris Chamber of Commerce). The guests will be tempted by a tea or a gourmet coffee, a tiramisu, a chocolate mousse with several textures and chocolate flavors according to the chef's inspiration. Dishes can be ordered on the spot or to take away and continuously from Wednesday. It is also a bar with a beautiful wine list, draft beers and sublime aperitif boards (raw milk cheeses, farmhouse) and cocktails for convivial evenings. The welcome is top notch, the bar is bright: you feel good. Possibility of privatizing the place for about twenty people. Good music too!

LE MONSEIGNEUR
Read moreLe Monseigneur dominates the place de la Bourse. To access the restaurant, nothing simpler, under number 5 of the square, take a corridor, go up to the first floor and there, a door opens, you enter an unexpected universe, a room worthy of 1001 nights. The ceiling is very richly crafted, the benches and the cushions are very attractive to come and sit down to enjoy a very refined dishes. The whole is so delicious and the view is very pleasant… Unfold the menu and make your choice. Why not start with a tabbouleh or a pastilla with chicken and open your appetite with almond and cinnamon flavours. Continue with a beautiful variety of couscous such as Bedouin couscous (grilled lamb and almonds) or Mogador couscous (chicken, skewer and merguez). Tagines are absolutely delicious like this lamb with prunes and almonds or this imperial méchoui (roasted lamb shoulder, potatoes and tomatoes). For meat lovers, there are many skewers. As for the wine, you can choose between Morocco and Algeria. From time to time, Le Monseigneur organizes oriental evenings with belly dancers, just call them to know the dates. Also note a second room that welcomes groups from 15 to 40 people for private evenings. Charming welcome and services. You will come out happy!
