A village placed under the double sign of the old metallurgical activities of the region and of poetry. Tertre-Rouge, Tertre-Oiseau, La Ferrière evoke the hand forges that produced iron. But Louisfert owes its association with poetry to the presence of René-Guy Cadou. The poet taught there from 1946 to 1951, when he died. The school was transformed into a museum on the initiative of his wife, who was a luminous inspiration for his work (Hélène ou le règne végétal). "I want to sing the astonishingly lucid joy of a flat country barricaded by strange cider apple trees" testifies to his love for a land that inspired some of his most beautiful verses.
