The Ligné name comes from Latin "Lignum" which means wood. These coats of arms recall the of the name of the Forest Commune (Ligné, lignum, wood) and its membership in Brittany. The entourage of Besants takes over the blason of the former lords of Musse, to mark continuity with the past. The monuments of the municipality's heritage are mainly religious: Saint-Pierre church and Saint-Mathurin Chapel. Nature is very present: several hiking trails (walking, trekking or horse riding) exist on the municipality.
