Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle is a village at the foot of the Ballon d'Alsace and the Rouge Gazon. It comprises several localities. Copper and iron were mined in the Vallée des Charbonniers in the mid-16th century. Slag can still be seen in places, reminiscent of this mining activity. There's plenty to do in winter and summer: skiing at Rouge Gazon, paragliding, hiking, horse-riding, cycling, adventure trails, canoeing, kayaking and archery.
