Nicknamed the Pearl of the Nied, Bouzonville has a rich history. The first traces of occupation date back to the Neolithic period, before being confirmed in the Second Iron Age, as evidenced by the archaeological digs carried out over the last ten years. In the 19th century, a gigantic Merovingian cemetery was discovered to the east of the town. In the year 1000, the names of Adalbert, Count of Metz, and his wife Judith are remembered as the founders of Bouzonville Abbey. This religious edifice and the Sainte-Croix abbey church are the highlights of your visit.
