Nonsard-Lamarche is a micro-village of some 200 souls. It lies at the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, some forty kilometers southeast of Verdun. The site owes its fame to its 1,000-hectare lake and leisure park, Lac de Madine. A dream spot for idleness, it has also been awarded Station Verte status, France's first ecotourism label. An ideal destination for camper vans, campers and lovers of unusual overnight stays. In the village, the fully restored washhouse now houses a sculpture of a washerwoman by Denis Mellinger, a contemporary artist from the Meuse region.
