Built on a hill in the Côtes de Meuse, the village of Vigneulles-les-Hattonchâtel enjoys a breathtaking panoramic view over the Woëvre plain. If it's just for the view, you'll want to stop by to discover its remarkable architectural heritage. Largely destroyed in the 14-18 war, the magnificent fortified castle, listed as a historic monument, was restored by businesswoman and philanthropist Belle Skinner, who lent her name to the town's main street. Don't miss the Saint-Maur church and its triptych by the school of Ligier Richier, the vaulted house, the 15th-century arcade house, the town hall and its garden, and the old wash-house.
