The houses of Toulx nestle atop a windswept granite massif. This small village of less than 300 inhabitants has two particular sights to see. The 11th-century church, with its harmonious circular apse, is unusual in that the bell tower is separated from the nave. This gives a strange impression of a building split in two. To the northeast of the village stands the "lighthouse", a tower built in 1932 by a local personality, Abbé Aguillaume. From this panoramic tower, the view extends over 100 kilometers and 7 départements: puy de Dôme, puy de Sancy, puy des Trois-Cornes de Saint-Vaury, Evaux and La Châtre are all easily visible.
