YELLOWISH STONES
A natural site not to be missed, which will not fail to surprise you with its chaos of granite rocks
A natural site not to be missed, its chaos of granite boulders is sure to amaze. After walking for 700 m, you'll come across some forty huge granite boulders mysteriously scattered across Mount Barlot, 600 m above sea level. These "mother stones" (from the Latin mater: mother) all have a name: Tetatès, Hesus, Tarann... and are the subject of numerous legends. This listed natural site was a popular place for walks by George Sand and Chopin, and offers panoramic views over Berry, Bourbonnais and the Boussac Valley.
